MIC and MBC of red fruit extract (Pandanus conoideus Lam) against periodontal pathogens bacteria

There are only few studies on the antibacterial activity of red fruit extract (Pandanus conoideus Lam) against oral pathogenic bacteria. Thus, this study aims to determine effectiveness extracts by looking at Minimum inhibitory Concentrations (MIC) and Minimal Bactericidal (MBC) periodontal The subjects were Streptococcus mutans (ATCC 25175), Fusobacterium nucleatum 25586), Porphyromonas gingivalis 33277). was tested liquid dilution method (microdilution). data analyzed using one-way ANOVA test followed a double comparison with Post Hoc Least Significance Different (LSD) method. effectively inhibited eliminated bacteria (p <0.05). Our showed that concentration 20% could inhibit growth gingivalis, which determined as MIC strength 80% MBC both tested. Furthermore, 10% an effect nucleatum, 40% nucleatum. significantly effective mutans, provide essential information for further in vivo clinical exact dosage disease.
